We strive to provide a safe, engaging
learning environment where student success is measured by high achievement
and personal satisfaction.
"The schools in our district strive to help each child become a responsible adult in the world community. Because of the small sizes of the schools, we are able to give each family and their children individualized attention that would not be possible in a larger environment. This coupled with the surrounding Sierra Nevada Mountain Range makes every school in
Alpine County a special place. Visit us in person if you can.
We enjoy sharing our schools and communities."
Superintendent
James W. Parsons, Ed.D.
"Alpine County is a combined Office of Education and Unified School District. We have seven schools allowing specialized programming for students. We encourage family and community involvement in our schools and are proud of many collaborative and outreach projects. Our largest school, Diamond Valley, has received recognition as a California Distinguished School three times in a row. Our Bear Valley Elementary School is a true
one-room school with a combined class of kindergarten through eighth graders. We have two necessary small high schools that are fully WASC accredited. Our Community Day Schools and Opportunity School offer educational options for students needing more individualized support.
Alpine County is a wonderful place to live, learn and play. Contact any of us for more information on our educational programs."
