Butte County Office of Education
The Butte County Superintendent of Schools serves as an
intermediary between the state and local school districts within
each county. Under the direction of the superintendent, the
Butte County Office of Education helps with implementation of
programs, provides fiscal oversight, monitors teacher
credentialing, supplies curriculum support and training and
helps in other areas of interest to school districts. The
major role for the Butte County Office of Education is to
provide quality educational programs for all students in Butte
County and be responsive to the needs for efficient and cost
effective assistance and support to the school district's
educational operations.
The Butte County Office of Education meets the required
specialized needs of students through such programs as Special
Education, Independent Study, Community Schools, Juvenile Court
Community Schools, Regional Occupational Programs (ROP) , and
administers a grand variety of state and federally funded grant
programs and services designed to enhance student performance
throughout the county.
Migrant Education and California Mini-Corps programs are also
provided through the Butte County Office of Education, with
several sites all providing teaching assistance to migrant
students throughout the state of California.
The goal of the Butte County Office of Education is to serve
all students, in Butte County and throughout the state.
