CTAP, California Technology Assistance Project
Summary: The California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) is a statewide educational technology leadership initiative, providing assistance to schools and districts in integrating technology into teaching and learning.
California Technology Assistance ProjectIn developing CTAP, the earlier SB 1510 Education Technology Act programs were restructured in order to place control at local and regional levels.
Funded by the Education Technology Local Assistance Program, CTAP
focuses on promoting the effective use of educational technology
through regional coordination of educational support services based on
local needs. Each of the eleven county superintendents'
regions in the state has developed and is implementing a plan to provide technology assistance in
five key component areas:
- Staff Development
- Technical Assistance
- Information & Learning Resources
- Telecommunications Infrastructure
- Coordination & Funding
The goal in each CTAP region is to work collaboratively to support the use of technology in districts and schools.
